New Zealand Senior team named to take on AFL Academy

11 Apr, 2017

The final NZ senior squad to take on the Australian U17 Academy side has been announced ahead of their clash at Wesptac Stadium, Wellington on April 24th.

The leadership group will be chosen on Saturday April 22nd and will be announced at the 2017 AFL New Zealand High Performance Awards.

Brisbane Lions superstar Simon Black will represent the NZ side for the first time. With NZ heritage, the three time Premiership winner adds a wealth of experience to the squad.

The NZ senior team last played the Australian Under 17’s in April 2016 at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland where the New Zealanders performed well against the elite youth of Australia but were defeated by the skillful Aussies.
