Young talent set to gain more exposure in Melbourne
04 Feb, 2019
New Zealand senior players and Southern Saints stars Misilifi Faimalo and Josh Morgan-Ranui will relocate to Melbourne to join up with the St Kilda City Football Club for their upcoming season.
The pair from Wellington fly out this week as they seek to pursue a full time career with an AFL club and feel that playing in Melbourne will give them more exposure.
Morgan-Ranui was the Southern Saints 2017 number 1 draft pick and first became involved with the sport through the AFL Cup Secondary School competition in 2015 where he represented Wellington College. Since then, he has been making waves with his hard nosed attitude and desire to become the best AFL player in the country.
Morgan-Ranui is a strong footballer who uses his size to his advantage when he lines up for his local Wellington Club side the North City Demons.
Josh has been a member of the U18 side for the past three years and was awarded best on ground during the 2017 campaign against the Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League.
In April this year, Josh made his debut for the New Zealand Senior side against the AFL Academy after being named as Emergency in 2017.
NZ superstar Misilifi Faimalo is the 2018 AFL New Zealand Under 18 Player of the year and an exciting young talent who is lightning fast on the footy field.
Misilifi‘s pace, skills and evasiveness shows why he is one of the top players in NZ and will make a suddent impact at St Kilda City.
