2019 AFL Finals: Broadcast Schedule Week 2

11 Sep, 2019

We are down to the final 6 teams in the 2019 AFL Finals as Essendon and the Western Bulldogs were knocked out in Week 1.

Friday night will see the Geelong Cats take on defending Premiers, the West Coast Eagles from the MCG at 9.30pm (NZT).

After yet another poor first quarter last week against Collingwood, the Cats managed their lowest score (51) of the season.

West Coast were back to their brilliant best against Essendon last week and will be full of confidence against a Cat’s side who will be trying to avoid the dreaded ‘straight sets’ exit.

On Saturday evening at 9.00pm (NZT), the Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants will meet for the first time in a finals series.

The Lion’s finished second at the end of the regular season and were soundly beaten by a dominant Richmond Tigers side last week.

On the other side of the coin, the Giants weren’t given much hope to beat a red hot Western Bulldogs in week 1 of the finals but produced a fantastic brand of footy to crush the Dog’s and progress through to week 2.

The winner of Saturday’s Semi-Final will progress to the Preliminary Final and take on Collingwood the following Friday night for a spot in the Grand Final.
