Hick to Captain Northern Suns in 2020

17 Sep, 2019

New Zealand midfielder Ben Hick will return as the Captain of the Northern Suns for the 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership.

Hick took over the role of Captain this year from James Kusel and after a slow start to the season due to injuries, the Sun’s clawed their way back from the bottom of the ladder to finish in third place.

With a bit of bad luck going their way in 2019, Ben can’t wait for the Premiership season to begin as the Sun’s aim for their first Premiership.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Suns again for the 2020 season. We made big strides at the back end of 2019 winning our last three games and I can’t wait to continue that brand of footy into the next season.”

Now a regular in the New Zealand line up, Ben made his debut at the 2017 International Cup after having been involved in the AFL New Zealand High Performance Programme for ten years and earned a spot in the International Cup World Team through hard work and determination.
