08 Nov, 2019

2019 AFL New Zealand Premiership Best and Fairest Jay Green has been retained by the Western Crows for the 2020 season.

Alastair Maisey from the Mt Roskill Saints has also been retained and will play his fifth season for the crows.

The pair were retained under Category 3 of the Retained Players List (RPL).

RPL 3 is the Retention of Auckland based players.

Jay Green

2019 AFL New Zealand Premiership Best & Fairest winner Jay Green has been retained by the Western Crows for the 2020 season.

In his debut season, the ball magnet from the Howick Hornets in the Auckland AFL claimed the award over runner up Michael Boyce from the Southern Saints.

Picked in the first round of the 2018 National Draft, Jay’s consistency made him a standout player all season.

A great runner of the football, Jay is small in stature but he has a massive impact on the field popping up all over the ground.

Jay also holds the award for Auckland AFL best and fairest which he won in 2018.

Alastair Maisey

186cm tall, Alastair Maisey from the Mt Roskill Saints will remain at Western Crows for the 2020 season.

The swingman of New Zealand footy, Maisey’s attack on the footy and strong hands make him a key target in the forward line.

Alastair can also play a key role in the backline with his strong physical presence and ability to take intercept marks over the opposition.

Maisey is the current Assistant Coach of the New Zealand Kahu Youth Girls.
