Jordan Drinkall from the Northern Suns has been awarded the medal for the 2017 AFL New Zealand Premiership’s leading goal kicker. Drinkall kicked a total of 26 goals for the season (Premiership record) with his biggest haul coming in round 3 against the Giants where he kicked 6 goals. Sam McKenzie from the Southern Saints ended the year on 20 goals and was runner up followed by his team mate Jordan Thompson who kicked 15 goals.

The best attacking side was the Northern Suns who kicked 809 points for the season with an average of 90 points per game. The best defensive side was the Southern Saints conceding 313 points for the season (an average of 34 points per game).
