The Central Giants have announced that they will add Auckland based players, Liam McMaster, Chris Bailey and Stephen Parton to “their retained players list” for the 2017 AFL New Zealand Premiership.
Central Giants roving back Liam McMaster will be a part of the Premiership set up in 2017.
McMaster is a solid performer on the footy field and is known for his attack on the ball and impenetrable defence.
Playing for the University Blues in the Auckland competition, Liam is committed and passionate about the game and always gives 100% on and off the field.
University Blues midfielder Chris Bailey has been retained by the Central Giants.
The 29 year old is a hard running midfielder who can be utilised off the half back flank. His ability to link with the forwards is exceptional and this will play a key role for the side coached by Rob Malone.
Bailey missed a few games through injury in 2016 but with a thorough pre-season ahead of the 2017 competition, he will aid the Giants through the midfield.
Marking forward Stephen Parton will pull on the Central Giants guernsey in 2017 after being retained by the Premiership team.
Strong marking and accurate kicking highlight Parton’s game evidenced by topping the sides goal kicking tally in 2016. With the potential to dominate in the air, Parton will look to build on his goal tally and push the Giants to their first Premiership.
