Central Giants select Will Gregson as their number 1

The Central Giants have selected Will Gregson as their number 1 ‪AFL New Zealand draft selection ‪to play in the 2016 ‎AFL New Zealand Premiership.

Gregson from the Waitakere Magpies club, has travelled through the high performance system after initially debuting at international level for the New Zealand Under 18’s team. A strongly built backman with a great leap and electric pace, he is likely to fill in a key role in the backline and in negating prominent opposition goal scorers.

“Great to have Will at the Giants. He will provide great depth to on field leadership and great versatility around the ground. He will be able to cover many positions and is strong bodied with a great kick. The relationship between David (Rattenbury) and Will having played club footy together was a big advantage in my selection.” Central Giants Coach Shannon Wall.
