Miller was linked with Hawthorn over a period of three years through the duration of his scholarship and was unlucky not to proceed further with the club. Representing New Zealand in the 2014 International Cup along with appearances against the AFL Academy in 2013 and 2014, he is well known for his ferocious tackling and great ground skills.

With his base in Otago, it is expected that his travel loading will be managed over the nine rounds. Regardless of these restrictions, it is expected that Miller will appear in the top five draft choices in the AFL New Zealand National Draft and could be selected as a number one draft choice.

Miller was keen to assist in representing players from the Otago region.

“There’s been a lot of work placed in to the local Otago competition over the past two years and we are seeing this pay off. I am keen to lead the way by giving the players in the local league something to target.”

At 21 years of age, Miller exemplifies the rich vein of talent that will be on show during the AFL New Zealand National Draft and the 2016 AFL New Zealand Premiership commencing at North Harbour Stadium commencing February 14th 2016.
