In preparation for the 2016 AFL New Zealand Premiership, the Western Crows have finalised the coaching staff to guide them through their inaugural season.
With Rob Malone already appointed as the lead coach, he will be joined by Michael Lentini, Dave Abetz and Kieran Houlker as his assistants for the 2016 season.
Auckland based Abetz is currently the head coach of local club Manurewa Raiders, a team packed full of young talent mentored well through his guidance. His connection to the AFLNZ Academy has seen a strong connection with South Auckland youth developing within the Manurewa Raiders Club.

Kieran Houlker occupies a similar coaching role with the AFLNZ Academy based in Wellington and his development as a coach whilst involved with the Premiership will work towards his graduation in a lead role with the Wellington club scene.
To finalise the trio of assistants, Auckland based Michael Lentini brings to the table, a strong passion for the game and a long association with the sport whilst based in Australia.

With the AFL New Zealand National Draft, first round selections only a short time away Rob Malone was asked his thoughts on potential candidates to commence the filling of his player roster.
“The Crows first pick is based on a Category 4 selection, and so must be under 18 and based in Auckland. Someone who is capable of playing an entire season will require strength and balance and so hopefully we can secure a player of that calibre.”
