The Western Crows have selected Josh Copeland as their number 1 AFL New Zealand draft selection to play in the 2017 AFL New Zealand Premiership.
Josh Copeland is a solid defender down in the backline and was a key player for the Northern Suns during the 2016 AFL New Zealand Premiership.
The 19 year old will once again link up with Chris Mundell who has take the reins of the defending Premiers for the 2017 season.
“Josh was one of the most consistent players for the Suns last year and continued that consistency through the U18 tour to Melbourne of which he was captain, I believe he is underrated by many and am very glad to have him available to join me at the Crows this year. His leadership and cool head down back of the Crows will be a great asset alongside current captain Jared Court”
Copeland has represented New Zealand at both U16 and U18 level along with playing for the Waitakere Magpies in the Auckland league. Josh has a big involvement in the AFL New Zealand Youth competition as role of coach and is always eager to learn all aspects of the game.
