Western Ravens announce coaching staff

Howard Gilbert and James Considine have been announced as the co-coaches for the Western Ravens 2022 Women’s Premiership campaign.

Howard has a strong foundation when it comes to the Women’s game. He led the way in implementing the Auckland AFL Women’s league, who are now into their second season and has involved in the previous two seasons of the national competition.

James has a long history in playing the game but is fairly new to coaching. He was part of the coaching staff for the Premiership winning Bulldogs in 2021 and is now looking to build on his experience.

Formerly, James has been one of the key players for the Northern Suns in the Men’s Premiership but will now focus on developing and growing the Women’s game.

Former Kahu Youth Girls Coach, Al Maisey has been announced as the Ravens assistant coach and will work alongside Howard and James.

The Ravens will take on the Northern Storm and the Central Shakers in a brand new Women’s Premiership competition, starting February 13th, 2022.
