At the end of 10 rounds, the North Shore Tigers have gone undefeated and secured themselves back to back minor premierships.
After a year off due to government restrictions, the Auckland AFL Competition kicked off in a magic round hosted by the tigers at Sunnynook Park. This was the perfect way to restart the league after an extended break. Early on, the Tigers asserted their dominance within the league, going on to score over 100 points in their first 4 outings. From there they would continue to comfortably win almost every game for the rest of the season, with their only close call coming against the Mt Roskill Saints in Round 9 where there was only 1 goal difference.

The AAFL has also opted into a new Finals system this season, where there will now be 5 teams in the Finals Series instead of 4.This will allow 1 of the 2 teams who may normally fall short of finals, an opportunity to make a run for the premiership.
