The New Zealand Falcons win big in the All Stars Clash

The New Zealand Falcons have beaten the NZ All Stars by 61 points in the first All Stars clash.

A long time coming after being delayed twice, the All Stars clash was the perfect reintroduciton to international honours. The new look NZ Falcons side saw 10 players make their debut in the senior team. 

The Falcons started off the game hissing at both ends. Lucas Jellyman Turner was a standout player and it showed early on, running off the halfback line taking intercept marks and starting the counter attack. A shock to the All Stars system, the Falcons held them scoreless in the first quarter, kicking 3 goals in first quarter, 2 of which coming from veteran Brendan Clark. The Falcons lead by 24 at the break.

The Falcons continued this form in the second quarter and took a commanding 48 point lead heading into the half time break. 

Fighting an uphill battle the All Stars finally started to click and adapt to the Falcons game style, tightening up their defence and starting to put some points on the board, with their first goal being kicked by Joey Alesich. 

The fourth quarter saw an even contest between the two sides with the All Stars staying within two points of the Falcons for the quarter. The Falcons hot start in the first half left them with to big a lead for the All Stars to get close.
