At this time, it is safest to stay home. If you are looking to have some fun, get involved with the AFL New Zealand at home challenge and be in the chance to win some cool prizes. You can even challenge your friends too!
We have set challenges for all age groups, so make sure you find your group to be in with a chance to WIN!!!
Primary School Students
Crazy Catch!
What you need to do:
- Record a 30 second video, showing us the CRAZIEST way you can catch a ball (this can be you doing fun body movements before catching an item or using different parts of your body to catch. Use your imagination and come up with something crazy!)
- Upload the video to Facebook or Instagram before September 12th and use the hashtag #AFLKiwiKickcrazycatch
Make sure when using your imagination for crazy catch, you have Health and Safety in mind.
Parents must be involved in the decision making of what takes place in the video and they must be the one posting to Social Media.
Kids Coach!
What you need to do:
- Video yourself showing how you coach someone in your household how to do an AFL KiwiKick Skill. (see different AFL KiwiKick Skills here)
- Upload the video to Facebook or Instagram by September 12th, and use the hashtag #AFLKiwiKickchallenge
The Prize:
1x entry into the AFL New Zealand Youth Programme (valued at $200)

Secondary School Students and Adults
What you need to do:
- Record a 30 second video of yourself kicking a ball (any type of ball) into a washing basket or a bin. Click here for a helpful guide
- Upload the video to Facebook or Instagram before September 12th, and use the hashtag #AFLyouthchallenge (Secondary Schools) or #AFLNZchallenge (Adults)
Ensure you are kicking the ball in an environment that keeps you safe, within the current Government Covid-19 alert levels. If you kick your ball over your fence, you may not be able to get it back. You can also try a local park in your area. Always stick to the current Government Covid-19 alert level restrictions and keep safe.
For each group the best video will be selected, and the winner will receive.
The Prize:
- Secondary School age students: 1x entry to the AFLNZ Youth Programme (valued at $200)
- Adults; 1x Sherrin AFL Match Football (valued at $129)
