A number of New Zealand sporting stars have used the skills that they have learnt playing AFL to propel them to greater heights.
Super Rugby and Waikato Chiefs rising star Naitoa Ah Kuoi made a big impact in the sport of AFL with his tall stature and outstanding ball skills.
Ah Kuoi has made 9 appearances for the Chiefs in Super Rugby and is now a permanent starter at lock.
Rugby has always been the number 1 sport for the 20 year old from Wellington but was the star of the show for the New Zealand Academy Level 2 side in 2015.
He captained the New Zealand under-16 AFL side at Anzac weekend and was named the New Zealand player of the series after two games against the Peninsula Saints, from Victoria.
Naitoa’s older brother Utu has captained the New Zealand Falcons U16 side and was named the U18 player of the year in 2015.
