Each week throughout the 2018 Premiership season, AFL New Zealand will announce the ‘Team of the week’ which will feature the 24 best players from the previous weekends round.
For this weeks team, Southern Saints captain Michael Boyce headlines the backline after a tremendous effort in his sides first win of the season. Boyce is joined by Central Giants defenders Chris Bailey and Brad Ingram along with Canterbury development player Finn Moffat, who looked the goods in his first Premiership game.
It’s a star studded midfield which includes New Zealand players, Misilifi Faimalo (Saints), Shane Leat (Crows), James Kusel (Suns) and Josh Cunliffe (Giants) who all played outstanding games. Giants best on ground Tristan Burnett makes his second appearance in as many weeks.
Central Giants captain Sam McKenzie bagged himself five goals in their impressive win over the Western Crows and joining Sam in the forward line is Saints up front target Alex Fakatoumafi and small forward Clayton Walters.
