Each week throughout the 2018 Premiership season, AFL New Zealand will announce the ‘Team of the week’ which will feature the 24 best players from the previous weekends round.
Consistent Giants defender Nick Rhodes headlines the backline after his best on ground performance. Rhodes is joined by Braedyn Collins who continues to develop each week and Suns defender Josh Hook from Otago.
Development players from the AFL New Zealand Academy impressed with Sam Anderson, Luke Williams and Brad Maloney all featuring in the side.
Central Giants forwards James McKenzie and Wayne Sullivan kicked four and five goals respectively to earn their spot in the forward line. Alex Fakatoumafi joins McKenzie and Sullivan after a five goal haul in the Saints win over the Crows.
