Each week throughout the 2019 Premiership season, AFL New Zealand will announce the ‘Team of the week’ which will feature the 24 best players from the previous weekends round.
This week’s team features some familiar faces along with a number of debutant’s.
Development player Brad Maloney has been selected in defence after he produced a great game playing for the Suns while Saints Captain Michael Boyce was among their best and deserves his spot alongside Jalan Farris.
In the midfield, New Zealand ruckman Ty Smith find himself back in the starting lineup after a solid game for the Crows. Sun’s best on ground Reed Cathcart also gets a nod and is joined by Giant’s midfielders Tristan Burnett and Ethan Halton.
Harley Jenkins and Finn Moffat starred up front for the Saints to earn themselves a spot in the side while Elliot Bennetts returns to the side after a 3 goal haul for the Giant’s.
