The Central Giants felt the wrath of the Premiership curse as the 2018 Premiers lost the plate final to finish in last place in 2019.
They will be looking for redemption in 2020 as they push for their second Premiership.
The Coaching team picked up a number of talented players including New Zealand Falcons skipper Andrew Howison.
2019 national Rising Star winner Brad Maloney joins the squad along with former Western Crow Christian Blackie from Dunedin.
If they can get a full season out of University Blues midfielder Seb Serrano and Tristan Burnett from the Mt Roskill Saints, they will be pushing for a spot in the Grand Final.
Player to watch: Andrew Howison
New Zealand Falcons Captain Andrew Howison will be making his Premiership debut in 2020 and will be THE player to watch.
The talented midfielder has recently returned home to Christchurch after spending 8 years leaving in Australia.
A winner of 3 New Zealand Player of the year awards, Howison’s work ethic around the ground is the best in the country and he will provide the Giants with a heap of experience in the midfield.
Whilst in Australia, Andrew played for Oakleigh Districts where he won a Grand Final in 2015 and was named best on ground in the same game.
More recently, Howison won back to back Premierships in 2018 and 2019 with the Dromana Tigers.
Get excited: Doug McJorrow
The Central Giants have picked up this developing midfielder for the 2020 season.
Doug played for the Southern Saints in 2019 and brings purpose to training and games.
A round 2 rising star award winner, McJorrow was part of the U18 squad that travelled to Melbourne in May last year.
Doug is hungry for the footy around the contest and will play a key role for the Giants in 2020
2019 position: 4th
Predicted position in 2020: 4th
2020 Best and Fairest: Tristan Burnett
