AFL New Zealand Academy graduates Max Frew, Xavier Giles and Lachlan McBride will line up for the Southern Saints in 2023.
Max Frew will make his debut in the Men’s Premiership in 2023, after playing as a development player in 2021. Max starred in his first ever game taking out the Rising Star Award. Situated in the forward line, Max plays his position well and looks comfortable up front.
Playing at Fullback, Xavier was tremendous for the NZ Academy side. His strong marking, accurate kicking and all round effort earned him a best on ground award in his first outing for New Zealand. Xavier is hard at the contest and is willing and determined to develop his game through the AFL New Zealand Premiership.
Cameron Howison and Lachlan McBride will play their first season as senior players and have previously played key roles for the NZ Academy sides back in 2019.
McBride, and Frew are all likely inclusions for the 2023 Under 18 Falcons due to tour Victoria in April 2023 following the end of the Premiership season.
