Please be advised of the following details for the AFL New Zealand AGM and Members Forum

AGM 3.30pm to 4.30pm, Forum 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Flights

Please advise of your clubs nominated delegate and availability for the AGM so flights can be organized accordingly. The AGM will be held in conjunction with the AFLNZ Academy National League, to be held at Parrs Park Oratia Auckland on Saturday/ Sunday March 14th and 15th 2015.

Elected Director Process

The Board is now calling for nominations for the following position.

One Elected Director (Up to a three year term).

The AFL New Zealand Board is responsible for overseeing the promotion, fostering and development of the sport of Australian Football in New Zealand and to provide Australian Football opportunities for all within NZ as described in the society’s current strategic and operational plan.

Interested persons must be nominated by a club in writing firstly and then submit a brief profile via email with resume to the address listed below by 5pm Friday 13th of February 2015.

As outlined in clause 7 of the AFL New Zealand Constitution and Rules, a list of nominees for the position under Rule 6.1 (a) [Elected Directors] together with a summary of their curriculum vitae will be forwarded on Friday 27th of February 2015 to all members.

Nominations are to be received in writing within the specified time and in the form prescribed by the Board of Directors.

Mr. Robert Malone retires in accordance with the above Rule and will need to seek reappointment. The election of the vacant Directorship will take place at the AGM by way of vote (secret ballot).

Please note that members must have met their governance and financial commitments to be entitled to vote.

Business of Meeting

Please be advised that any remits / motions to be considered at the AGM must be submitted in writing to the Chief Executive Officer no later than 5pm Friday 13th of February 2015.

Life Membership

 Please be advised that any Life memberships to be considered at the AGM must be submitted in writing to the Chief Executive Officer no later than 5pm Friday 13th of February 2015.

A list of remits and motions will be forwarded to all members along with a copy of the AGM agenda , a copy of the Annual Report, a copy the audited financial accounts and Proxy voting forms on Friday 27th of February 2015 to all members.

Forum Topics

All submissions regarding topics for discussion will be forwarded to members with a timely agenda set ( due to flight commitments ) and specific members called on to lead discussions. The AFL New Zealand Board will finalise the forum discussion topics by Friday 27th of February 2015. The items will be chaired by Geoff Dickson (AFL New Zealand Chair) to ensure timeliness of the agenda.
