The Level 1 and 2 AFL New Zealand Academy will play a two game series against the Mornington Peninsula BlueScope Steelers from Victoria in Auckland in early April, 2021.
Due to the travel restrictions surrounding Covid-19, the 2020 tour was postponed until 2021.
A Youth Girls side from Mornington will also make the trip over and compete in a series against the New Zealand Youth Girls.
The Australian based League will travel from the heartland of AFL in Victoria for this will established tour itinerary.
The Mornington Peninsula BlueScope Steelers return to New Zealand for the fifth year and the League is looking forward to the trip back to Aotearoa. The tour has previously held significant links to the ANZAC spirit, accentuating the links that exist between New Zealand and Australia over our histories.
President of the region Andrew Souter and his Committee, has been successful in creating an annual fixture between the six competing teams and has formed some close bonds with his New Zealand partners over the past three tours.
The tour will have a variety of cultural, football and friendship experiences available to the travelling teams.
All games will be played at North Harbour Stadium in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore.
The initial squads will replicate the announced squads from earlier this year with additions and subtractions made due to changing circumstances.
