AFLNZ National side in search of new name

AFL New Zealand are excited to announce the next chapter our history with a new identity for our national side and want you to become a part of our future!

AFL New Zealand is reaching out to the community to submit ideas for a new national team name along with an explanation of why that name is significant to Aotearoa.

The NZ Falcons won the AFL International Cup in 2005

The national side were formerly named the Falcons where their highest achievement was winning the AFL International Cup in 2005.

Following the organisations partnership with the Hawthorn Football Club, the national side became the Hawks in 2011.

The time is now right to create our own unique identity.

As AFL in New Zealand continues to evolve and grow, the national team deserves a team name and brand that is representative of this Country and our community.

Be a part of history by embracing this opportunity and submit a new team name to help create our new identity.

Upon entering your submission, you will go into the draw to win an AFL New Zealand Prize pack valued at over $100.

Submissions will close Friday 27th July at 5.00pm.
