The 2022 AFL Women’s finals series will feature 10 players with New Zealand heritage.
Brisbane and North Melbourne will host qualifying finals in the first week of the NAB AFL Women’s finals series.
Fremantle will travel east to take on North Melbourne at 4.10pm NZT on Saturday. Tahlia Randall and Jasmine Garner will feature for the Kangaroos and will come up against Makaela Tuhakaraina and Ange Stannett from the Dockers.
Meanwhile, the Lions will host Collingwood in Brisbane in the second match on Saturday, starting at 6.10pm NZT. Key forward Jesse Wardlaw will line up for the Lions alongside dashing defender, Indy Tahau.
Melbourne and Adelaide get a rest in the first week of the finals as they prepare for their Preliminary finals.
Lauren Pearce has been one of Melbourne’s best all year and will play a key role if they are to make the Grand Final.
For Adelaide, Najwa Allen, Stevie-Lee Thompson and McKenzie Dowrick will enjoy the week off and prime themselves for a big game against either Fremantle or North Melbourne.
