AFLW Grand Final stage is set

The 2023 AFLW Grand Final has finally arrived. After 14 weeks of tough competition only two sides remain, the North Melbourne Roos take on the Brisbane Lions with the match set to be the perfect finish to another incredible season.

Both sides have had a strong season, and showed outstanding grit and determination to come out on top in their preliminary finals matches, with both teams winning by less than a goal. In Round 4 the Lions beat the Roos in a two point thriller, where the Lions came from behind in the fourth quarter to win the game.

This will be the first AFLW Grand Final Appearance for North Melbourne and two New Zealand heritage players will be leading the way for the Roos. Jasmine Garner is a workhorse in the midfield for the roos, and ranks among the top 3 in disposals, clearances, and kicks for the season. The 29 year old is only getting better with age, with her season average stats coming in well above her career stats. Tahlia Randall is also having a career best year and her strong marking ability makes her one of the most dangerous forwards in the game.

The Roos have the home ground advantage, and the Lions have the Grand Final experience, but only one will be able to call themselves Premiers in 2023. Tune in to Sky Sport or stream through the official AFLW app this Sunday to find out who will come out on top.
