Andrew Bisset crowned 2020 Premiership Best and Fairest

Southern Saints defender Andrew Bisset has claimed the award for the best player in the 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership after a magnificent season for the Premiership winning side.

The announcement was made at the 2020 Premiership Grand Final Breakfast on Sunday morning at North Harbour Stadium.

The votes were awarded by the Umpires following each game throughout the season with best on ground receiving 4 votes.

Playing in his second season in the competition, Bisset has been a consistent standout player all season.

From Wellington, Andrew polled 3 votes in the final round to win by 3 votes over Northern Suns midfielder Will Dickinson.

Andrew is a strong defender and is also a great runner of the football. Hardly beaten in a one on one contest, the 27 year old has hopes of one day representing the New Zealand Falcons.

Bisset plays for the Wellington City Saints in the Wellington league.

Past winners include Brandon Sucu (2016), Andriu Sucu (2017) from the Southern Saints, Western Crows Captain Jay Johnson (2018) and Jay Green (Western Crows) in 2019.
