Bulldogs bite back to level series

The Bulldogs have come from behind to beat the Magpies and level the series in game two of the 2020 Women’s Premiership at North Harbour Stadium.

Trailing by 16 points after the first quarter, the Magpies worked their way back into the game over the next three quarters as they worked to their game plan.

In the second term, the Bulldogs fought back through Luzette Hermon who put in a best on ground performance in the forward line and kicked 2 goals.

Maia Sciarone kicked a goal just before the main break and the Bulldogs went into halftime with a 1 point lead.

The Bulldogs kept the Magpies scoreless in the third term and they extended their lead when Melissa Baer from Canterbury kicked her first goal of the game.

In the final quarter, the Magpies couldn’t spark a comeback as both sides kicked a goal each and it the Bulldogs took the honours.

The decider will take place on Sunday April at North Harbour Stadium starting at 12.00pm.

“That was a really good game to watch today. All the players (from both sides) looked like they enjoyed it out there and everyone played to their potential. The Women’s game continues to rise rapidly so lets all enjoy the ride.” Bulldogs Head Coach Mick Coultard.
