Following the latest announcement by the government, Auckland will remain in Alert Level 3 until 11.59 Sunday August 30th.
At that time, Auckland will move to Alert Level 2. The rest of Aotearoa New Zealand will stay in Alert Level 2
What this means for Auckland:
- From midnight on Sunday, schools, hospitality, retail and those entities that are able to operate at level two may all reopen
- However there will continue to be a limit on mass gatherings and that means groups of no more than 10, with the exception of tangihanga and funerals
- These settings will be reviewed again Sunday September 6
In Level 2, good personal hygiene practices should continue and if you are sick with flu-like symptoms, self isolate and get advice about being tested.
If you are travelling on Public transport and planes, you must wear a face mask and all facilities now must display a contact tracing QR code.

There will be minor changes to alert level information from next week, however the advice on the Sport NZ website remains accurate at this time.
Remember, if you feel unwell, please stay home.
