The Crows have pushed aside an understrength Northern Suns outfit and recorded a 90 point victory at North Harbour Stadium.
With a number of key players missing, it was always going to be a hard task for the Suns as they took on the Crows.
The Suns got themselves on the scoreboard early but it was all one way traffic from the Crows from there.
Robert Harris and Morgan Huggins from the North Shore Tigers had strong starts in the forward line. Harris plays as a key forward, with Huggins positioning himself as a small hard running forward.
Shane Leat was all over the ground and was linking nicely with Henry Russell.
The Suns never gave in as Jacob Nyman and Travis Walker worked well together in the midfield.
Captain Jay Johnson had a blinder of a second half. The Cantabrian was on fire, kicking 3 goals and setting up multiple others.
The win boost the percentage of the Crows as they prepare to take on the Giants in round 6 this coming weekend. The Suns welcome back key players next week and will be hopeful of an upset against the Southern Saints.
The hero:
Shane Leat showed his class once again and had another outstanding game. The midfielder was superb with plenty of touches of the footy and also showed his leadership around the ground.
The support cast:
Robert Harris had some fun in the forward line and finished the game with 4 goals. Dan Brooks and Jay Johnson were great in support and finished with 3 goals each.
The consolation effort:
The Suns had a number of development players from Christchurch this week, and the future is bright. Max Frew, Lachie McBride, Campbell Cleall, Ethan Latimer and Jacob Nyman were all fantastic and they played their roles brilliantly.
