At the recent AFL NZ board meeting Adelaide based director, Liza McNally, was elected Deputy Chair of AFL New Zealand. Ms McNally will be supporting newly appointed Chairman, Bernard Saundry.
Ms McNally is an executive level marketer with over 25 years experience across the media, telecommunications, hospitality and entertainment sectors. Her specific skills are in the areas of brand strategy, retail marketing, customer experience, corporate communications, digital and social.
Most recently Ms McNally was Chief Marketing Officer of SkyCity Entertainment Group and prior to that she held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at New Zealand Media & Entertainment (NZME). Her experience also includes a 14-year career with News Corp Australia.
Ms McNally resided in Auckland, New Zealand until early 2021 when she relocated to Adelaide, South Australia. Whilst her professional focus to date has primarily been on executive roles, Ms McNally’s governance background includes six years as a trustee of the Farmers Auckland Santa Parade and as a director on the board of online restaurant booking platform, Restaurant Hub in 2016/17.
Ms McNally holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Deakin University majoring in Marketing and Economics with First Class Honours in Marketing. Ms McNally is a member of the Institute of Directors, New Zealand.
