Draft 2016 to take place on November 22nd

The AFL New Zealand 2016 National Draft will take place November 22nd at 7.30pm.

 

All four AFL New Zealand Premiership Head Coaches will link together as they look to commence work on their respective player rosters for the 2017 AFL New Zealand Premiership commencing February 12th at North Harbour Stadium.

 

Who will be Number 1???

 

Initial draft picks in each of the categories will be finalised in the lead up to November 22nd with the number 1 picks for each team announced prior to the commencement.

Over 100 players have now signed from regions spanning Northland to Otago. A further 30 players will be added to the list over the next month to finalise those participating in the inaugural competition.

The National Draft will involve the first 7 rounds of draft selections and 48 players, adding to the initial selection of captains already in place. The remainder of selections will take place in January after the completion of provincial matches, fitness assessments and also training sessions where the four coaches have the opportunity to view and recruit players new to the High Performance system.

The draft will be live via social media from 7.30pm onwards.
