New Zealand Heritage team member, Sam Durdin will make his Carlton debut tomorrow night against Richmond.
Confirmed by AFL Senior Coach Michael Voss in his weekly press conference, Durdin will become the seventh new Blue in 2022, becoming Carlton player No.1231 in the process.
It marks a rapid rise for Durdin, who was working on a construction site in South Australia just weeks ago before being drafted out of Glenelg by the Blues in the NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
It won’t be Durdin’s first taste of AFL action, having played 22 games for North Melbourne after his debut in 2017, but it will be his maiden appearance in Navy Blue.
It’ll also be his first at the home of football, with a capacity crowd expected for the clash between Richmond and Carlton on Thursday night.
He had his opening appearance as a Blue last weekend, appearing for the Carlton Reserves just 10 days after he was drafted by the Club.
