The New Zealand Hawks are set to take on the best young players from Australia.
New Zealand Hawks vs AIS AFL Academy will be played at Westpac Stadium, Wellington, on Saturday the 25th of January. The match will begin at 12.00, with free entry for all.
A rivalry is beginning to develop between the New Zealand Hawks and the AIS AFL Academy. After competitive matches between the two sides in 2011 and 2012, the New Zealand Hawks will be looking to record their first win over the visitors.
For the Hawks, the match will be an important step in an important year. With fixtures scheduled against a South Pacific Invitational XVIII in April, and the International Cup in Melbourne in August, the match against the AIS AFL Academy will be a crucial test for the team.
For Wellington, the match will mark the start of the build up to ANZAC Day, on which the St Kilda Saints will return to play the Brisbane Lions. St Kilda Football Club will also be visiting Wellington in February, for a Community Camp aimed at bringing AFL to new areas.
