Footy moves to the iconic Hagley Park

A new AFL venue has been secured in Christchurch at the iconic Hagley Park.

The oval at the North end of the park will host its inaugural fixture this Saturday September 8th featuring a double header incorporating Round 3 of the Canterbury AFL.

The Canterbury AFL (CAFL) Committee lead my President Steve Langridge have worked side by side with Christchurch City Council to provide the sport with added exposure and potential growth by securing the new venue.

With the new high profile location in the centre of Christchurch, the CAFL will expect significant growth in players and curious spectators when they see the famous four posts.

The league will have a BBQ running and family activities so get down to support your team and join in on the first big day at Hagley Park.

Parking is available on Salisbury St, Harper Ave or the Botanic Gardens carpark from Armagh st.
