Former Australian Rugby Schoolboys and NSW Waratahs representative Jordan McGregor has been appointed AFL New Zealand Premiership Coordinator for the 2019 season.
McGregor will link with local clubs around the country over the course of the season (August-December) and will focus on player and coach development in the lead up to the 2019 competition.
The 28 year old represented the Australian Schoolboys (Rugby Union) in 2007 before signing with the NSW Waratahs in 2008.
“I’m looking forward to this new opportunity to work with the local clubs over the next few months to provide the players and coaches with multiple resources to develop their game and get them ready for an exciting 2019 Premiership season.”
The AFL New Zealand Premiership is seen as the perfect opportunity for a higher level competition providing an extension to the traditional regional league seasons spanning between August to December each year. The seasons timing also provides the opportunity for coaches to utilise Australian based players within their selections.
