Josh Morgan-Ranui

Southern Saints 2017 number 1 draft pick Josh Morgan-Ranui will remain at the premiership side for the 2019 season.

The 19 year old from Wellington became involved with the sport through the AFL Cup Secondary School competition in 2015 where he represented Wellington College. Since then, he has been making waves with his hard nosed attitude and desire to become the best AFL player in the country.

Morgan-Ranui is a strong footballer who uses his size to his advantage when he lines up for his local Wellington Club side the North City Demons.

Josh has been a member of the U18 side for the past three years and was awarded best on ground during the 2017 campaign against the Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League.

In April this year, Josh made his debut for the New Zealand Senior side against the AFL Academy after being named as Emergency in 2017.

Hayden Johnston

The Southern Saints have retained the services of Hayden Johnston for the 2019 AFL New Zealand Premiership.

The 19 year old from Otago is one of New Zealand’s bright young talents who has the potential to make a big name for himself in the AFL New Zealand community.

Named as the vice captain of the New Zealand Under 18’s for the 2018 campaign, the key defender was one of the standouts in their historic victory on Australian soil.

Johnston is tipped to do great things in New Zealand footy and will benefit the Saints in the backline in 2019.
