Hornets welcome new coach for 2019

The Howick Hornets have appointed James Dixon as the new Head Coach of the Senior team for the 2019 Auckland AFL season.

James joins the Hornets having spent the last 5 years in senior playing / coaching roles at the Camden Cats who play in the Sydney AFL. James has played in various leagues in Adelaide, Queensland, Wagga Wagga and in Sydney and is excited about the challenge ahead for the hornets in season 2019.

“I am really looking forward to the opportunity to help further build the culture and success of the club that has shown it is on the way up” James said.

James has seen success in his days having played over 200 games and having won 5 premierships over this time. “I believe one of the key ingredients to success is having a committed and unified team, on and off the field. The committee definitely have a vision for success, and I can’t wait to be part of it.”

The Hornets are very excited to have some one of James’ caliber in the head coach role; “I am thrilled to have a head coach to take us into the 2019 season, James is set to bring the right attitude, structures and guidance our team has been searching for to take us up another level” says Ryan White.
