Kiwi defender relishing new role at North Melbourne

Tahlia Randall is normally a strong defender trying to stop her opponent from scoring, but recently, the Kiwi heritage player has found a new position in the forward line and is making a huge impact.

Originally drafted by the Brisbane Lions in 2017, Randall made the move south in 2019 when she signed with the North Melbourne Football Club and is now the clubs games record holder.

The 23-year-old is building a reputation at North Melbourne for her contested marking efforts. The new key forward – who has spent the vast majority of her time as a Kangaroo in defence was moved forward as part of a restructure in 2021. Now having kicked 5 goals so far this season, Randall is loving her time in the forward line.

One of the highlights of her season so far was her Round 3 ‘Mark of the Year’ win.

Randall’s mother was born in Titirangi, Auckland and although Tahlia was born in Queensland, she is proud of her NZ heritage.
