One stalwart of the New Zealand AFL scene, Brendan Clark, has maintained his connection with the South Mornington Football Club. Earlier this year, the Junior club welcomed his son, Cooper, as part of the Mornington exchange programme. This past weekend, Brendan took to the field for the South Mornington senior team, and together, they achieved Grand Final glory. In a thrilling contest, they triumphed with a final score of 99-79, clinching the prestigious title of Premiers in the SANFL Senior League.

Looking ahead to this weekend, the spotlight shines on two Kiwi talents based at the Hawthorn Amateur Football Club. James Southby and Xavier Bryham have been turning heads with their exceptional performances throughout the season. As they gear up for the 2023 VAFA Senior Premiership showdown, their contributions will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in their team’s quest for glory.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. In the AFL arena, we have our New Zealand Heritage players, Max Gawn and Zac Fisher, going head to head in a high-stakes clash on Friday night. Melbourne and Carlton are set to battle it out in the opening Semi Finals showdown. Carlton, riding a wave of success with 10 wins in their last 11 games, including victories over minor premiers Collingwood and Melbourne themselves in their last regular season encounter, are looking formidable. Kiwi sports enthusiasts won’t want to miss this thrilling encounter, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sport channel 9 this Friday. Coverage kicks off at 9:30pm NZST, and you can be sure it’ll be a spectacle to remember!
