Central Giants 2021 Premiership winning coach, Justin Gauci and NZ Falcons Assistant Coach, Justin Davies have been named as Co-Coaches for the NZ All Stars, as they prepare to take on the NZ Falcons in September at North Harbour Stadium.
In a first for AFL New Zealand, the game will be an addition to the calendar and provide a solid contest for players currently playing at the highest level. With international travel restriction starting to abate it is expected that a surge of opportunities will present themselves to the New Zealand Teams Programme.
Justin Davies has been involved with coaching at a High Performance level since 2008 and brings with him a wealth of experience. The former NZ Falcons head coach analyses the game well and knows what it takes to get the best out of the NZ footy community.
Justin Gauci was a foundation player for the Western Crows in 2016 before making the transition into coaching. Gauci was thrust into the role as Central Giants head coach in 2021 and after making some strong selections in the pre-season draft, he led them to their second Premiership, losing only 1 game along the way.
During his time in New Zealand, Justin has volunteered with local footy and the AFL New Zealand Youth and Academy Programme.
