The Northern Suns have added two more players to their playing roster as Josh Mackie and Paul Hogan have been retained for the 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership.
The pair have been retained under the (RPL) category 3.
RPL Category 3 is the retention of Regional based players.
Josh Mackie will return to the Northern Suns in 2020.
From Otago, the 20 year old has been the Captain of the NZ U18 side and has been a pivotal member in the Suns squad over the past 4 seasons.
His agility along with his height gives him the ability to take strong marks but also the attribute of evading players which showed in his performances in past seasons of the Premiership.
Paul Hogan made a big impact in his first season of the Premiership and has been retained for 2020.
The 2019 Northern Suns Best and Fairest winner plays for the Eastern Blues in the Canterbury AFL has a background in Gaelic Football.
Normally positioned at Centre Half Back, Hogan is very fit and mobile and reads the game well.
A strong mark and a great attitude are Paul’s best attributes and he will be hard to stop in defence in 2020.
