Auckland:
With just two weeks until the end of the regular season, it looks like the top 4 have been found with University Blues having one hand on the minor premiership. The Manurewa Raiders are still in with a slim mathematical chance of making the finals with 2 victories from their last 2 games.
Results from round 8:
The Magpies make it 2 from 2 at Parrs Park, downing the Mt Roskill Saints by 44 points in a great afternoon of football. NZ Hawks superstar Shane Leat put the icing on the cake with a “60m” goal after the siren had sounded.
Waitakere Magpies: 13.11: 89
Mt Roskill Saints: 7.3: 45
In the North v South battle, the Tigers were too strong at home, edging the Raiders with a comfortable (on the scoreboard anyway) 40 point victory. Manurewa will be looking to regather some of their great mid-season form, to finish the season strong and get revenge against the Mt Roskill Saints for their narrow loss in Round 5.
