The Wellington City Saints put together a strong performance to hand the Eastern Suburbs Bulldogs their first loss of the season in the Wellington AFL.
In a game which had a howling wind, the Saints put the majority of their goals on the board working in to the wind. The Bulldogs had no response for clean running football from the Saints and it was a best on ground performance from Jason Cox.
In the second game the Hutt Valley Eagles continued their run of good form with a win against the North City Demons.
The Demons were missing two key players in half back Alex Awatere and Ruckman Josh Morgan-Ranui.
The Eagles were strong and led by Captain James Kusel and his midfield as they made the the most of their opportunities to come away with the points.
Strong goal kicking from Kusel, Rob Janaszkiewicz and Jalan Farris proved the difference.
