Serrano and Hayhoe return to the Saints

The Southern Saints have announced that they will add Auckland based players Sebastian Serrano and Tom Hayhoe to their retained players list for the 2018 AFL New Zealand Premiership.

The players have been retained through Category 1 of the Retained Players List (RPL): Retention of Auckland based players who have not played for the New Zealand Senior team over the past 12 months.

Sebastian Serrano

Exciting youngster Sebastian Serrano will pull on the red, white and black again in 2018.

The 18 year old Aucklander has shown maturity and experience in his short time playing AFL.

In 2016, Serrano captained the AFL New Zealand Level 2 Academy sode against the Peninsula Saints and showed leadership, courage and determination.

With leadership qualities and consistent development, Seb could be a regular name in the senior New Zealand side in years to come.

Serrano is a very tenacious player, hard at the contest and has continued to develop his skill and link play over the years.

Tom Hayhoe

22 year old Tom Hayhoe is the last retained player for the Southern Saints for the 2018 AFL New Zealand Premiership.

Hayhoe relished the opportunity of playing in the Premiership after he was drafted by the Saint in last years National Draft and didn’t disappoint head coach Warwick Kain when making an impact on the wing.

After the good news of being retained, the North Shore Tigers player could have another reason to celebrate in the coming weeks as the table topping Tigers are hot favorites to take out the Auckland AFL final on December 3rd at QBE Stadium in Albany.
