Shake up for Women’s Premiership Coaches

Howard Gilbert will shift to the Shakers to assist Peter Geale in the 2024 AFL New Zealand Women’s Premiership. After a large increase in the regions, and an increase in registrations over the bridge in Auckland, the Women’s premiership is quickly transitioning into a regionally based competition.

Gilbert’s shift to the Shakers will see him unite with the Central Shakers, Auckland based contingent. The large influx in playing numbers from the Wellington region will see a likely shift to Wellington following the 2024 season, with Premiership matches to be played in Wellington for the first time in 2025.

The Western Ravens have locked in a coaching replacement team, with appointments to be announced later today.
