AFL New Zealand’s partnership with St Kilda Football Club and AV Jennings has provided thousands of young participants, across New Zealand, the opportunity to experience and play AFL. The Partnership has also seen incredible opportunities for our New Zealand Falcon’s Under 18 team, visiting the St Kilda Football Club during their Melbourne tour campaign.
This is the fourth time, our Under 18 New Zealand team has visited the St Kilda Football Club and the third visit at their new facility at RSEA Park. Their visit consisted of a tour of the magnificent facilities, followed by a training session on the high quality playing fields.
After a 3 year hiatus due to travel restrictions, the recent Under U18 touring team to Melbourne experienced a training session lead by Hannah Priest, the Captain of the St Kilda AFLW team, and Education Lead at St Kilda along with 2 other AFLW players including Georgia Patrikios, and New Zealand born, Women’s Heritage player, Jesse Wardlaw.
Adding to the visit was the opportunity to meet with another New Zealand born representative, St Kilda Ruck man and NZ Men’s Heritage player Rowan Marshall. Rowan was joined by Jesse for a Question & Answer session following the on field training session.
A Massive thanks to St Kilda Football Club for hosting the boys, we look forward to the continued growth of our partnership
