Talented Canterbury duo set their sights on the Premiership

Talented Canterbury athletes Kieran Charlton and Luke De Roo will be available for selection in this year’s National Draft.

Both players will be in high demand by all four teams as they look to shape their squads for the upcoming 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership which begins on February 9th at North Harbour Stadium in Albany, Auckland.

Kieran Charlton

Kieran Charlton (pictured above) is a tough defender with a solid overhead mark.

He took the role at Fullback with the Level 2 Academy side in April this year and showed what he can produce against the touring Australian side.

In May, Charlton travelled to Melbourne with the U18 NZ side and played a stellar game off the halfback line. His efforts saw him receive the best on ground nod from the opposition coach.

Currently playing for the Eastern Blues in the Canterbury league, this young talent will continues to develop and has the potential to become a regular in the New Zealand senior side in years to come.

Luke De Roo

Luke De Roo is a tall defender who has seen a fast rise in his ability over the last 12 months.

Luke attends St Bedes College and represented New Zealand for the Academy Level 2 side alongside Kieran in April this year.

An all round athlete, Luke enjoys the physicality that comes with AFL and plays for the Mid Canterbury Eagles in the Canterbury Australian Football League (CAFL).
