Toomer and Proctor headline Category 4 in tonight’s Draft

Regional Based players Logan Toomer and Chai Proctor will headline Category 4 in tonight’s 2017 AFL New Zealand National Draft. 


The Otago pair have both represented New Zealand in the past and will both add value in any of the four Premiership sides.

The 2017 AFL New Zealand National Draft will take place tonight (November 21st) at 8.00pm and will see all players placed into one of four list categories. Highlighting the logistics of the competition and scheduling at QBE Stadium, the list categories are determined by national representation, age and regions throughout New Zealand.

The four categories involved are:

Category 1: AFL New Zealand Academy Graduates

Category 2: Auckland based players

Category 3: Regionally based New Zealand Representative

Category 4: Regionally based players


Logan Toomer

Otago NPC Captain Logan Toomer is a key forward you want in your side.

A goal scoring machine, the 25 year old averaged three goals per game during the 2017 AFL New Zealand Premiership and will look to make a big statement in the 2018 season.


Chai Proctor

Chai is an up and coming superstar who made an impression in his first season playing for the Central Giants in 2016.

A current New Zealand Under 18 squad member, Chai is a small forward who will develop into a strong midfielder who will challenge at every contest.
