Mhicca Carter is ready to wear the Silver Fern on the MCG. The West Coast Eagles defender has been playing AFLW since 2019 and is hungry for higher honours.
Mhicca grew up in Blenheim in the South Island before making the move to Perth in 2011. With a Rugby Union background, Mhicca made the switch to AFLW, when she was signed to the West Coast Eagles in 2019.
With Rugby being the number 1 sport in New Zealand, Mhicca would have loved to be able to learn the game from a young age.
“I have loved playing AFL in Australia and wish there was an opportunity to play footy growing up in NZ.”
When asked about the opportunity to represent New Zealand in an AFLW Test match, Mhicca said she would jump at the chance.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to represent NZ and hopefully this game can happen in the future.”
